Unsere Geschichte · Our Story

A little corner of Germany on Main Street

Inside a building that has stood on North Main Street since the 1880s, Bavarian Brauhaus pours a genuine slice of Germany into the heart of Historic Downtown Bryan. Step through the door and the city falls away: warm pine ceilings, wooden booths, exposed brick and the clink of liter steins.

The kitchen keeps it honest. Traditional German dishes made from scratch, and beer poured in keeping with the old Bavarian Purity Law. No theme-park shortcuts, just real schnitzel, real wurst and proper imports on tap.

A fun local quirk: we share a wall, and an open doorway, with the Irish pub next door, so a few Irish plates wander onto the menu too. Locals call us a top five spot in Bryan and College Station, and we have the regulars to prove it.

One guest, here with her husband from Germany, said it was the closest to home he had felt in a very long time.

"This is definitely a top 5 place in my opinion for restaurants in Bryan/College Station. Good German food, favorite being the Jagerschnitzel and Spätzle. We have been probably close to a dozen times and never had a bad experience. Love this local place."
"It was so nice to get ACTUAL SCHNITZEL, not some overpriced theme park garbage. It is very authentic. The spatzle and bratkartoffeln was THE BOMB! Being that my husband is from Germany, he said this was the closest to home he's felt in a very long time."
"Nothing fancy, but a reliable spot for hearty German food in Bryan. Quiet and comfortable inside with classic Bavarian tavern decor. Service was quick and friendly. Our waitress even gave us pretzels to-go as they closed, which was a really nice touch."
"This place is great! The ambiance is perfect. The food came out surprisingly fast, and the schnitzel was so good. This place is an absolute golden find. Without a doubt, I will return EVERY time I'm in town."
"We enjoyed the atmosphere, music and service at this German restaurant. We were celebrating our anniversary and had a wonderful time."
